Yes, its that time again! School is starting right this week in many places and another exciting year is under way! Do you know what awesome school assemblies your kids will see this year? If not, well...time is wasting and the best dates are filling quickly. It is time to get moving!
And once more the schools in greater Chicago and the surrounding area have an awesome opportunity coming to do some super “one stop shopping” for the coming year. Every year the very finest school assembly performers gather in Skokie, Illinois for the Performers for Young Audiences Showcase, held annually at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. This year the date is set for Wednesday, August 27, from 8AM until about 3PM
Many of these stellar presenters will be showcasing snippets of their wonderful school shows for you to “audition” and judge whether they are what you would like to bring into your building. And all of us will be available at booths scattered around the outer lobby and in the the interior “big” room so that you will have the amazing opportunity to converse with and get to know the performers themselves. This is an awesome opportunity.
So make your plans to attend!
Mobile Ed, as always will be there with some of our performers, including one marvelous person who is hard at work putting the finishing touches on our newest program, the as yet unannounced (shhhhh) Sacagawea! This great new addition to our lineup tells the astonishing tale of the Native American girl who accompanied and saved the fabled Lewis and Clark expedition to chart the newly opened West. Look for more on this exciting new show soon, but next week will be your opportunity to actually meet Sacagawea in person! We really hope to see you there.
Additionally, we will have new information about another of our newest performers, Mr. Peace, who for the first time allows Mobile Ed to not only address the vitally important issue of Bullying in the middle and high school age bracket, but does so in spectacular fashion talking to teenagers in their own language and with a “street cred” they will listen to and respond to. This is an area sourly lacking in resources despite being the time frame in the development of children where the greatest abuses take place and where there is the greatest need for solid, intelligent assistance. Mobile Ed is very proud to once more be able to bring help in an area of need.
All in all, this year gives you more reasons than ever to be excited about all the possibilities for enhancing your students lives, and Skokie is the place to be to make that magic happen.

Geoff Beauchamp is the Regional Manager of Mobile Ed Productions where "Education Through Entertainment" has been the guiding principal since 1979. Mobile Ed Productions produces and markets quality educational school assembly programs in the fields of science, history, writing, astronomy, natural science, mathematics, character issues and a variety of other curriculum based areas. In addition, Mr. Beauchamp is a professional actor with 30 years of experience in film, television and on stage. He created and still performs occasionally in Mobile Ed's THE LIVING LINCOLN. He also spent ten years coordinating assembly programs for the elementary school where his own children went to school.
