Here at home we are seeing political unrest in Wisconsin and numerous other states as various elected officials try to implement controversial policies. These tumultuous events in themselves are pretty unusual and interesting. However, world events are even more exciting. We recently watched the toppling of a long time regime in Egypt through nothing more than peaceful protests. Now the entire Middle East is exploding as one nation after another follows the lead of Egypt.
Poor Libya has spent much of its history under the thumb of foreign domination, having been controlled at various times by Ancient Rome, Spain, the Ottoman Empire, various Sultans and Italy to name but a few. It has been home to pirates, and one major city, Tripoli, is, of course, famous to Americans from the relevant verses in our Marine Corps anthem concerning American involvement in the Barbary wars.
Our children need to be made aware of the huge reverberations shaking our world. Sadly, the average American is woefully ignorant of world geography and many are hard pressed to locate Libya or even Egypt on a world map.
Thankfully, we now have technology available to educate our children thoroughly in this area. But kids are bored easily as any teacher will tell you. So, it is a great advantage when schools are able to schedule a visit from Mobile Ed’s earth balloon school assembly program the Earth Dome.
Our Earth Balloon stands twenty feet tall and is covered in thousands of high-resolution color photographs taken of the planet’s surface from the Space Shuttle and then seamlessly melded together by computers to form an unbroken skin. This huge and amazing globe is a perfect mechanism for getting kids excited about geography!
Best of all, our Earth Balloon is very cost effective. You will be amazed at the low price for bringing this great school assembly to your school. Mobile Ed’s Earth Balloon is priced hundreds of dollars less than those identical school assemblies offered by competing companies.
