Jeff Hoge is a remarkable fellow and, when it comes to school assemblies, he is certainly one of the best performers around. He is remarkable because he is capable of performing admirably in many different roles as a school assembly presenter.
Jeff started with Mobile Ed years ago as our Abraham Lincoln presenter for Illinois and Wisconsin. Now most states visited by Mobile Ed school assemblies have to share a Lincoln presenter with other states, but Illinois, the “Land of Lincoln” has enough demand that it calls for it’s own tour. And Jeff is superb at presenting the 16th President. Many schools bring him back year after year. Maybe it is his background as a stage actor but whatever the reason, Jeff is amazing as Abe!
But he has also added to his capabilities over the years. He offers a superb version of my very favorite Mobile Ed program, our Young Authors Day, and is equally good at entertaining children with Mime Time.
But he really shines brightest in his role of science guy, performing his own wonderful show Our Changing Climate. Jeff has a passion for the environment and for environmental issues, and his passion manifests itself in a totally awesome program perfect for explaining climate change to kids without crossing over into sometimes contentious political waters. Additionally, since the beginning of this year, Jeff has started carrying our forensic science school assembly Crime Scene Science, and he has been having a blast teaching kids how we utilize the “scientific method” to solve crimes.
Recently, Jeff has been on the East Coast on one of his infrequent trips out of the greater Chicago area. But Illinois schools may rejoice as Mr. Hoge is now back in Chicago land and available through the end of January to bring his awesome school assemblies to schools in and around the Windy City.
Oh, and one last thing, as though Abraham Lincoln, Classical Mime and two different science programs were not enough, Jeff will add Mark Twain to his repertoire beginning in January. Early word is that his rendition is wonderfully fun, entertaining and great for illuminating the writings, and writing process of America’s foremost author and humorist.
So if you are in Illinois and you are getting some good results from your Fall fundraiser and are in the market for a great educational school assembly later this year ... well... have we got the answer for you! But don’t delay! Jeff’s schedule has some open dates left as of today, but those dates will not be open for long ... not when word gets out that Jeff the Science Guy is back in town!
