Last month, Mobile Ed had the pleasure of visiting Canyon Creek Elementary School in North Texas! We were delighted to find our Earth Dome assembly featured in their local newspaper. Reporter Lori Brown highlighted the unique experience, capturing how the Earth Dome gave students a new and tangible way to better understand the scope of our planet. In their own words, students shared how the Earth Dome not only provided a fresh perspective on their learning but also encouraged a desire to travel the world!
The Fox News crew took our performer, Zach Montez, by surprise when they showed up to film! “What a treat that ended up being,” he commented. “Of course, there were nerves once the cameras were up and rolling, but being able to have that moment/experience with the kids was so special.”
Zach joined the Mobile Ed team last September. He studied Music Education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and has a background in high school band directing. Zach has worked as Head Director at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and Associate Director and Director of Percussion at Paschal High School in Fort Worth. In addition to the Earth Dome, he performs the SkyDome Planetarium, the STEAM Museum, Magic of Science, and Quest for Kindness assemblies around the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. Soon, Zach will be adding Drum Perks to his rotation, a motivational program that combines drumming and teamwork, making it the perfect fit for his background in music and teaching.
“There are so many things that make this job awesome,” he said of working for Mobile Ed, “but at the end of the day, seeing kids smile, learn, and have a good time is what means the most to me.”
Call the News!
You can make the most of your experience with Mobile Ed by bringing out your local news station! A news article is a great way to showcase the learning opportunities provided for students while inviting viewers to enjoy the assembly vicariously. Not only will students be excited to see themselves and their classmates in the news, but they’ll also have a chance to share their thoughts directly with the reporter and, by extension, their community - demonstrating that their voices are important. Parents, too, will be proud to see their children in the news and get to share in the excitement!
A newspaper feature is also a great tool for highlighting how schools go above and beyond to provide their students with a well-rounded education and to honor the efforts of parents and teachers who work together via the PTA or PTO to help bring students these unique and enriching educational experiences.
Did the Earth Dome Catch Your Eye?
We thought it might! At nearly two stories high, this giant inflatable globe towers over students, giving them a better sense of the scale of our planet. The Earth Dome gives students an up-close look at geographical features as seen from space on cloud-free days. This immersive experience leaves a lasting impact on students and their understanding of geography and how the world connects. If you’d like to give your students a new perspective on our planet, contact Mobile Ed today to bring the Earth Dome to your school!
