The Only SEL Program You'll Need This Year
This fall, Mobile Ed is launching our newest character-building program: Quest for Kindness! This brand-new program teaches social-emotional learning (SEL) skills in order to stop bullying before it starts. No one is a stranger to bullying, but this thrilling program is full of SEL skills and bullying-prevention devices that will leave your students prepared and inspired to make their school a kind and safe community.
Social-emotional learning is defined as the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to:
- Develop self-awareness
- Manage emotions
- Achieve goals
- Learn empathy
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships
- Make smart decisions
Teaching SEL in schools has immense benefits for students of all ages, inside and outside of the classroom. SEL provides life-long skills that are required for daily interactions, and research has found that children students who develop sufficient social-emotional skills are better able to handle pressures later in life. It’s also proven that implementing SEL standards reduces levels of bullying as well as increases academic performance in schools.
CASEL, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, is the most widely used SEL standard in schools across the country. Over half the country has adopted CASEL standards in their schools to guide social-emotional learning and meet these goals. Mobile Ed has developed Quest for Kindness as an SEL-focused assembly program that observes CASEL’s five divisions for social-emotional learning.
In this one-of-a-kind program, students become adventurers as they go on an exciting quest in search of the Key to Kindness! This “legendary treasure" will unlock what it means to be kind to the people around us. The first half of this program will consist of exciting challenges for the whole group. During each challenge, students learn practical tools for identifying emotions, managing stress, and solving problems. Once students discover the Key to Kindness, the program focuses on the power kindness has in preventing bullying. Students obtain an understanding of why bullying occurs and become equipped with devices to stop it.
Mobile Ed turns education into an entertaining experience that motivates and empowers students in their education. With audience participation, interactive challenges, and a visit from our virtual assistant Ed Venture, students won’t want this adventure to end! Watch as students expand their emotional intelligence and relationship skills while having a blast.
