After a two year absence from Colorado we are happy to report that Mobile Ed Productions is returning to the beautiful Rocky Mountain State in 2011!
Education Through Entertainment
Well, today marks the end of an era! Space Shuttle Endeavor blasted off successfully today on what will be the last of that shuttle's flights. Space Shuttle Endeavour was the fifth of the shuttle orbiters. The first flight of the orbiter Endeavour was STS-49 mission in May 7, 1992. Space Shuttle Endeavour was named after the first ship commanded by James Cook. Captain James Cook was an 18th century British explorer, navigator and astronomer.
We have written before about the poor performance of our children (and many grown-ups, too, unfortunately) in the area of geography. It is a sad state of affairs, but one, given today’s amazing technologies, does not need to exist.
Mobile Ed school assemblies are in the news again! Recently our earth balloon school assembly - The Earth Dome - visited students at Mowrey Elementary in Pennsylvania. Nancy Mace, a reporter with The Record Herald, shared an article on the visit.
We recently announced the beginning of school assembly scheduling for the 2011-2012 school year. For our client schools in the great state of Texas, and for all the other fine schools there who have not yet tried one of our awesome school assemblies, here is some fantastic news!
We spoke not too long ago about how well school assemblies and science assemblies work for Scout events. At the time we referenced in particular how great science assemblies like our Chemistry program are for the entertainment portion of Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquets. All very true! Cub Scouts and science assemblies make a perfect match.
There is an old Chinese curse that says “May you live in interesting times!” Well if that is a true curse then we are really cursed these days!
School assemblies today? Forget it! The weatherman promised an inch of snow last night for South East Michigan schools, but he was wrong. Michigan schools in the lower peninsula awoke this morning to as much as a foot of snow. A foot of snow! It was over the bumper of my car! Now, being that today is Presidents Day, many schools are closed anyway, but some were scheduled to be open. Not anymore! Ohio schools, Michigan schools, Indiana schools ... schools from Texas to Pennsylvania are all closed today!
Following in our recent line of “shout outs” to great school assembly performers, a little recognition for a long time favorite of ours, Ms. Kathleen Day, our auburn haired heroin from Springfield, Ohio!
We wrote about Dave Mitchell yesterday and the wonderful reviews he gets for his New Jersey school assembly performances. Well, today we have another shout out to a fellow from Long Island, New York who also performs for us regularly in New Jersey schools and to equal acclaim.
