As a national company devoted to bringing high quality educational school assemblies to schools pretty much all over the country, our performers naturally spend a lot of solitary nights on the road. It can be a lonely life. Sometimes, in a twenty four hour period, a performer may speak to only hotel clerks and waitresses outside of school hours. So when it happens that they are in a location where they have friends it is always a bonus. And when two or more of our school show performers find out they are in the same place at the same time they always like to get together for a meal and some good conversations, trading humorous “war stories”.

Monday is the day we celebrate the birthday of a great and oh so important American, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Schools across the country are finding ways to celebrate this great man’s life, and, at least in our opinion, there is no better way to do that than with a school assembly program that brings Dr. King’s story to life for kids and adults alike.

With this being December, and the holidays approaching rapidly, we announced yesterday a special “deal” for Chicago area schools as a sort of holiday “gift” to our friends there. Well, today we have a similar “gift” for all our friends in elementary and middle schools in New Jersey and other eastern seaboard states.

Mobile Ed Productions sends wonderful school assembly performers from Michigan (and a few other states) out on the road every year in August to begin touring to schools pretty much all over the country. It is a rambling, crazy way of life alternating between the exhilaration of performing great school shows in front of happy kids and teachers and the loneliness of empty hotel rooms and long miles on the road. Thanksgiving and other family oriented holidays, usually give us an opportunity to get home for a few well earned days with loved ones.

Mike Carrell has been performing school assemblies for Mobile ed for a long time. For many seasons he was resident on the East Coast, delivering wonderful presentations of our high-tech school show Lights Camera Action to grateful and happy schools in New York, New Jersey and other parts East.

We mentioned yesterday that Dave Mitchell was coming back to Ohio and Michigan schools next week after touring the East Coast the last month or so. His anti bullying school assembly - Stronger Than a Bully -  was especially popular among New Jersey schools.

I have written before about one of our presenters who is a personal favorite of mine and a very good friend. His name is Toma, and he performs several shows for us but is especially renowned for his own creation Young Authors Day. 

As we reported last week, this week is designated as National Character Counts Week! We hope you are all doing what you can to celebrate this important recognition.

As recent articles here have made clear, most of the school assembly performers Mobile Ed sends into schools are on tour, traveling from town to town, from state to state throughout the year. Some major metropolitan areas, however, allow us to station a performer there year round, much to the delight of schools in that area, since this opens up a whole lot more dates from which they may choose. Last week I wrote about a couple of our performers resident in the greater Chicago area. Today I wish to draw your attention to New York and New Jersey.
