We recently announced the beginning of school assembly scheduling for the 2011-2012 school year. For our client schools in the great state of Texas, and for all the other fine schools there who have not yet tried one of our awesome school assemblies, here is some fantastic news!
Education Through Entertainment
In recent days we have all been mesmerized and appalled at the steady stream of appalling news and devastating pictures and video pouring out of Japan. Our hearts go out to the untold thousands of people in this time of catastrophic injury. Nature is truly ferocious beyond belief or comprehension, and our man made accomplishments are so easily cast aside in its wake.
We are left though wondering how mankind may better prepare against such events in the future, and also facing once more in the wake of the nuclear reactor failures, contemplating a future after fossil fuels when we must have other ways in which to meet our energy needs.
These are not simple problems and they will not go away. And simple answers will not suffice. As the great newspaper man H.L. Mencken once observed “ For every difficult problem there is a simple answer ... and it’s wrong.” :-)
Every year Mobile Ed tries to introduce new school assemblies for our client schools, either in the form of a totally brand new program or as a newly refurbished school assembly. And every year we have some clients who are disappointed when we withdraw from circulation an older school assembly program to make way for the new. But we also have many clients always asking for something new, and school assemblies do grow old with use. Sometimes they just need to be taken off the road for a season and freshened up a little.
I have written several times in the past about one of our great school assembly performers Dave Mitchell. He presents our wonderful Ben Franklin school assembly as well as school assemblies on Math and Reading. Well, Dave is hard at work on a brand new program for next year, and yet found himself growing pensive about how and why we do the school assemblies that we do. He jotted down a few thoughts recently, and I thought I would share them with you.
Just a teaser here... Mobile Ed Productions will be making a great announcement in the next few days very relevant to the world of Texas school assemblies and science assemblies. Stay tuned for details!

We spoke not too long ago about how well school assemblies and science assemblies work for Scout events. At the time we referenced in particular how great science assemblies like our Chemistry program are for the entertainment portion of Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquets. All very true! Cub Scouts and science assemblies make a perfect match.
Last week the Space Shuttle Discovery made its final launch into space. I came across this incredible video showing the launch, not from the ground as we are accustomed to viewing it, but rather from the vantage of a high altitude aircraft. Have a look for yourself....
There is an old Chinese curse that says “May you live in interesting times!” Well if that is a true curse then we are really cursed these days!
